Privacy Policy

This is a draft policy for launch. Have it checked by a lawyer before you rely on it, and update the analytics section to match the tools you really install.

This policy explains what the MotionShine website and app collect, why, and your choices.

Who is responsible

MotionShine is made and sold by Rahat Khondokar, an individual operating from Bangladesh (“I”, “me”, “we”). Contact: [email protected].

The app: your recordings stay on your Mac

• Recordings, edits, captions and exports are processed on your computer. They are not uploaded to me.
• A licence key is checked when you activate it. The app may contact a server to do this. Updates are checked only if you allow it. These requests can include the app version, your macOS version and your IP address, as any web request does.
• The caption model downloads once, the first time you make captions. Some other content, such as macOS wallpapers, is downloaded only when you choose it.
• The app asks macOS for Screen Recording, Microphone and Camera access. These are used only to make the recordings you start.

The website

What you send me

If you subscribe to product updates or email support, I receive your email address and anything you write. I use it only to reply and to send what you asked for.

Analytics

The website uses privacy-minded analytics to count visits and clicks, for example on download buttons. This may record your approximate location, device and browser type, the pages you view and how you arrived. You can block analytics with your browser settings or an extension, and the site still works.

Buying a licence

Payments are processed by Polar (polar.sh), the merchant of record. Polar runs checkout, collects and pays any applicable taxes, issues receipts and generates licence keys. I never see or store your card details.

Polar collects your payment details, billing address and email under its own privacy policy. It shares with me what I need to run your licence: your name or email, country, order and licence key. I never receive your card number.

Who I share data with

Only the services that run MotionShine: Polar (payments and licences), my website host and analytics provider, and my email provider. I do not sell personal data. I may share data when the law requires it.

How long I keep it

Order and licence records are kept as long as needed for support, tax and accounting. Support emails are kept while they are useful. Ask me if you want something deleted.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to see, correct, delete or export your personal data, to object to some uses, and to complain to your local data protection authority. Email [email protected] and I will reply.

Children

The Service is not directed to children under 13, and I do not knowingly collect their data.

International transfers

I am based in Bangladesh and my providers work worldwide, so your data may be processed in other countries. I rely on my providers’ safeguards for this.

Changes

I will update this page when my practices change. The date at the top shows the latest version.
