Free tool

Word cloud generator, from any text.

Paste an article, survey answers, a transcript or a list of words, and the most used words appear in a cloud, bigger the more often they come up. Common words like "the" and "and" are left out, and a click on a word in the list hides it. Pick a shape, colours, a font and how the words turn, then save a sharp PNG or an SVG you can edit.

Questions

Good to know.

How are the sizes worked out?

Each word's size follows how often it appears: the most used word is the largest, the least used the smallest, and the rest fall in between. Numbers on their own are left out.

Can I choose the words and sizes myself?

Yes. Pick "My list with counts" and write one word or phrase per line with a number after a comma, for example "design, 12". Lines without a number count as 1, and phrases stay together.

Some words are missing from the cloud.

Short and very common words are left out on purpose; untick the option or lower the shortest word length. If the page says some words did not fit, make the word size smaller, pick a fuller shape, or show fewer words.

Can I edit the SVG?

Yes. The SVG keeps each word as text, so Figma, Illustrator or Inkscape can change colours and fonts. It uses fonts on your computer, so a font you do not have may look different.

Does it work with other languages?

Words in any alphabet are counted and drawn. The list of common words to leave out is English only.
