How GPA works
01 / Points
On the 4.0 scale an A is 4.0, a B is 3.0 and so on, with plus and minus grades in between.
02 / Credits
Each grade's points are multiplied by its credits, added up, and divided by all the credits.
03 / Weighted
Many high schools add 0.5 for honors and 1.0 for AP or IB classes; the weighted GPA shows that.
Questions
Multiply each grade's points by the course credits, add them up, and divide by the total credits. The calculator does it as you type.
Unweighted uses the plain 4.0 scale. Weighted adds extra points for harder classes, usually 0.5 for honors and 1.0 for AP or IB.
Type your current GPA and the credits it covers under Cumulative GPA. This term's courses are added in.
