Pomodoro timer, focus, then rest.

Work for 25 minutes, rest for 5, and take a longer break after four rounds. The timer switches between focus and breaks for you, rings at each change, can show a notification, and keeps a short task list with the rounds you spent on each. Change any length to suit you.

    How it works

    The Pomodoro technique.

    01 / Pick

    One task

Choose what you will work on and add it to the list.

    02 / Focus

    25 minutes

Work on only that until the bell rings. Note distractions for later.

    03 / Rest

    5 minutes

Stand up, look away from the screen, get some water.

    04 / Repeat

    Long break

After four rounds, rest for 15 to 30 minutes.

The method was created by Francesco Cirillo in the late 1980s and is named after a tomato-shaped kitchen timer.

    Questions

    Good to know.

Does it work in a background tab?

Yes. Each round counts from the time it should end, and the bell is set in advance on the browser's sound clock, so it rings on time while you work in another tab or app. Turn on notifications to see a message too.

    Can I change the lengths?

Yes. Many people use 50 minutes of focus and 10 of rest, or 90 and 20. Your lengths are kept in this browser for next time.

    What does Skip do?

It ends the current round and moves on. A skipped focus round is not added to today's count or the task.

    Where are my tasks kept?

In this browser only. They are not sent anywhere, and another browser or device will not see them.

    Is there a plain countdown?

Yes, the online timer counts down any time with an alarm, and the stopwatch counts up with laps.
