Take a plain photo
Ask someone to take it, 1 to 2 metres away, against a white or light wall, no shadows, no glasses glare.
Free tool
Turn a photo taken against a plain light wall into a passport or visa photo at the right size, with your head between the lines the rules ask for. Save one photo, or a 4 x 6 inch sheet of copies to print at any photo shop. Your face is found in this tab and the photo is not edited, only cropped, so it is never uploaded or changed.
Drag the photo to move it. The top of your head goes on the upper line, your chin inside the green band.
This runs in your browser. Your photo is never uploaded.

Questions
United Kingdom: 45 mm high by 35 mm wide, head from chin to crown 29 to 34 mm, on a plain cream or light grey background (gov.uk, checked on 15 October 2026). India: 2 x 2 inches (51 x 51 mm), the face 70 to 80% of the photo, on plain white or off-white (Embassy of India in the Netherlands, checked on 15 October 2026). United States: 2 x 2 inches, head 1 to 1 3/8 inches from chin to the top of the hair, on white or off-white (a U.S. consulate photo guide; travel.state.gov did not open for us, so check it there too). Rules change, so read your country's official page before you print.
We cannot promise that; the passport office decides. The page only crops and sizes your photo, it does not fix the light, the background or your expression. Some offices ask for more: the UK wants photos "unaltered by computer software" and printed to a professional standard, Canada asks for photos taken by a commercial photographer, and Australia advises against online photo services and apps. For those, go to a studio.
No. It does not remove the background, smooth skin or change colours, because most passport offices reject edited photos. It only scales and crops. Where the photo does not reach the edge of the frame, the gap is filled white, so take the photo with room around you.
No. The face finder, YuNet (MIT licence), is served from this site and runs in this tab. The photo never leaves your computer.
Download the 4 x 6 inch sheet and print it at 100% (no fit to page) on glossy photo paper, at a photo shop or kiosk. Cut along the grey lines. The photos are made at 300 dots per inch.
