The current time in Korea, to the second from your device clock. Korea Standard Time is UTC+9 all year, the same as Japan, with no daylight saving now. See the date, the offset, how far Seoul is ahead of you right now, what time it is in Seoul when it is a given time where you are, and the time in Tokyo, Singapore, Los Angeles and New York.
Pick a date and time on your side and read the matching time in Korea. The boxes start on your own time zone and the current date.
The clock follows your device's clock, with this place's rules from your browser's time zone data (the IANA database). The tab title shows the time. Your 12 or 24 hour choice stays in this browser.
Runs in your browser from your device clock. Nothing is sent anywhere.
How it works
01 / Zone
One zone for South Korea, kept by KRISS.
02 / Daylight saving
The clock does not change, so only the other side of a call moves.
03 / Date
Korea is on the next calendar day for much of the American day, and the result says which.
Guide
The time in Korea is Korea Standard Time, KST, which is UTC+9. Seoul and the rest of South Korea keep this one clock all year, and the country does not use daylight saving time now. The big clock above shows Seoul time to the second from your device clock, with the date, and the cards give the offset and your gap to Korea right now.
The Korea Research Institute of Standards and Science, KRISS, keeps Korea Standard Time. In a January 2026 article about its public time program, it says Korea Standard Time is kept accurate to within a few nanoseconds of UTC. The IANA time zone database lists Asia/Seoul at UTC+9 and records daylight saving for Korea in a few past years only, the last in 1987 and 1988. The page reads the current rules from your browser, so it shows no clock change for Korea in the next two years. Checked 18 Oct 2026.
Korea stays at UTC+9, so the gap changes only when the other place moves its clocks. The table shows how far Korea is ahead of each place in the middle of January and July 2026.
| Place | Korea vs the place, 15 Jan 2026 | Korea vs the place, 15 Jul 2026 |
|---|---|---|
| Tokyo | same time | same time |
| Shanghai | 1 h ahead | 1 h ahead |
| Singapore | 1 h ahead | 1 h ahead |
| Sydney | 2 h behind | 1 h behind |
| New York | 14 h ahead | 13 h ahead |
| Los Angeles | 17 h ahead | 16 h ahead |
Tokyo shares the same clock, so the gap is nil all year. Shanghai and Singapore are 1 hour behind and do not change. Sydney is in the southern hemisphere and moves its clocks at the opposite times of year, so the gap changes in April and October. The US changes its clocks in March and November, and Europe in March and October.
Here is 10:00 AM on Tuesday 20 October 2026 in Seoul. Korea is far ahead of the Americas, so the date there is the day before:
| Place | The time there |
|---|---|
| New York | 9:00 PM EDT, Mon 19 Oct |
| Chicago | 8:00 PM CDT, Mon 19 Oct |
| Los Angeles | 6:00 PM PDT, Mon 19 Oct |
| London | 2:00 AM BST, Tue 20 Oct |
The arithmetic for New York: 10:00 AM KST is 1:00 AM UTC (subtract 9 hours). New York is on EDT, 4 hours behind UTC, so it is 9:00 PM on Monday 19 October.
A call that works for Seoul and the US East coast sits in the US evening and the Korean morning: 8:00 PM in New York in summer is 9:00 AM in Seoul the next day. With London, the London morning is the Korean late afternoon: 9:00 AM in London in winter is 6:00 PM in Seoul. Use the box above to get the exact answer, with the day, for the date you plan.
The answer line above carries the weekday and date in the other place. When Korea is on Tuesday morning, North America is still on Monday, so a Monday deadline in the US is a Tuesday one in Korea. Check the date in every result.
The date is the most common one, since Korea is on the next day for much of the American day. The next is a half hour added from habit: Korea's offset is a whole 9 hours. The last is mixing up Korea with Japan or China. Korea and Japan share UTC+9, but China is on UTC+8, an hour behind Korea. If an answer looks off, read the day written next to it.
The page shows your device clock converted to Korea time. If the device clock is a few seconds off, so is the page. The online clock has a Check my clock button that compares your device with the web server.
