Free tool
Drop a lecture, a webinar, a demo or any recorded talk and get a short summary, the key moments with their times so you can jump to them, and the full transcript. Speech is written out by Whisper, an AI that runs in this tab, so the video is never uploaded. Where Chrome's built-in AI is available, it writes the summary in its own words.
Video
Chrome's built-in AI writes a new summary for English, Spanish or Japanese videos, on computers that meet Google's requirements. Without it, the summary is the key sentences from the video itself.
The video is written out and summed up in your browser. Nothing is uploaded.
How it works
01 / Open
A lecture, meeting, demo or tutorial saved on your computer.
02 / Listen
Whisper writes out what is said, with times, in 19 languages.
03 / Sum up
A short summary, the key moments with their times, and the transcript to copy or save.
Questions
No. Reading a video from another website needs a server, and this tool runs only in your browser. Use a video file you have, such as your own recording or a download you have the rights to.
No. Key moments are sentences said in the video, picked because they share the most words with the rest of the talk, with the time they were said. Only the summary is written fresh, and only when Chrome's built-in AI is there.
The summary comes from what is said, so a video with only music or silent footage has nothing to summarize.
Long talks work; they take longer, since the speech is written out on your computer. The status shows the time left.
No. Everything happens in this tab.
