Binaural beats, made to your settings.

Two tones a few hertz apart, one in each ear: with headphones you hear a slow beat between them. Pick the base tone and the beat, use a preset by its usual band name, add soft pink or brown noise underneath, and set a timer. Listen here, or save an MP3 of any length to play anywhere.

Use headphones. Start quiet.

How it works

Two ears, one beat.

01 / Tones

Left and right

With a 200 Hz base and a 10 Hz beat, the left ear gets 195 Hz and the right 205 Hz.

02 / Headphones

Needed for the effect

On speakers both tones reach both ears and simply mix; headphones keep them apart.

03 / Files

Any length

Save 1 minute to an hour as MP3 (or WAV up to 10 minutes) with soft fades at both ends.

Questions

Good to know.

Do binaural beats do anything?

People use them for focus or relaxation. This page only makes the sound; it does not claim any health effect.

Do I need headphones?

Yes. The beat is made by your two ears hearing two slightly different tones, so each ear has to get its own.

What do delta, alpha and the other names mean?

They are the usual names for ranges of beat frequency (in hertz). The presets put the beat in the middle of each range.

Can I download it?

Yes, as an MP3 of 1 minute to an hour, or a WAV up to 10 minutes.
