Made for sprites

Crisp at every size.

01 / Mirror

Symmetry for free

Turn on mirror drawing and every pixel lands on both sides, the quick way to draw faces, ships and characters.

02 / Frames

Animate in place

Copy a frame, change a few pixels, and the onion skin shows the last frame faintly so movement stays smooth.

03 / Scale

No blur

Exports are scaled by whole steps with no smoothing, so a 32 pixel sprite becomes a sharp 512 pixel picture.

Questions

Good to know.

How do I make pixel art?

Pick a small canvas like 16 or 32 squares, choose a colour and click squares to fill them. Start with an outline, then fill and shade.

Can I make an animated GIF?

Yes. Add or copy frames, change each a little, check the preview, and press GIF. Set the speed with frames a second.

What size should I export?

1x keeps the true pixels for games; 16x or 32x makes a sharp picture for posting or printing.

Can I turn a photo into pixel art?

Start from a picture shrinks it onto the grid for you to tidy by hand. For automatic results, try the pixel art converter.

Is my drawing saved?

Yes, in this browser, as you draw.
