Free tool

Pixelate an image, all of it or just a part.

Drop a picture and watch it turn to big square pixels as you move the slider. Pixelate the whole thing for a retro look, or drag boxes over faces, names, number plates or screens to hide only those parts, or keep the boxes sharp and pixelate everything around them. Square blocks or round dots, a quick look at the original, and a full-size PNG or JPG. The picture never leaves your browser.

The picture is changed in your browser. It is never uploaded.

Two ways to use it

A retro look, or a quick hide.

01 / Whole

Pixel-art look

Big blocks over the whole picture for a game-style or 8-bit look, or round dots for a LED-board feel.

02 / Part

Hide faces and names

Drag boxes over the parts to hide. Everything else stays sharp.

03 / Full size

Nothing lost

The saved file is the same size as the picture you dropped, as PNG or JPG.

Questions

Good to know.

How do I pixelate part of a picture?

Pick Only the boxes I draw, then drag a box over each part. Double-click a box to remove it.

How do I make the pixels bigger?

Move the Block size slider to the right.

Can pixelation be undone by someone else?

Large blocks hide detail well, but small blocks over short text can sometimes be guessed. Use big blocks, or a black box, for anything sensitive.

Does it keep the full size?

Yes. The saved picture has the same width and height as the original.

Is my picture uploaded?

No. It is changed in your browser.
