Remove a watermark from an image.

Take a watermark, a logo, a date stamp or a signature off a picture. Paint over the mark, or let the page find text marks for you, and an open AI model fills the space with what should be behind it. It runs in this tab, so the picture is never uploaded. Use it on pictures you own or have the right to edit.

This runs in your browser. Your pictures are never uploaded.

How it works

Three steps, nothing to install.

01 / Drop

The space is filled from the surroundings. Paint again to clean up, then download.

Questions

Good to know.

Can I use it on any picture?

Use it on pictures you own or have permission to edit: your own photos with an old date stamp, your own designs, stock images you have paid for. A watermark often marks someone else's copyright, and removing it to use their picture without permission can break the law where you live.

How do I remove a watermark that covers the whole picture?

Paint over every repeat of it, or press Find text marks if it is written text. Large or repeated marks over detailed areas leave more to guess, so work in parts, check each one and undo anything that looks smudged.

Is my picture uploaded?

No. The text finder is served from this site and the filling model is downloaded to your browser from Hugging Face, the open model library. Both run in this tab, so the picture never leaves your computer.

Which AI model fills the space?

LaMa (big-lama), an open image inpainting model from Samsung AI Center researchers, released under the Apache 2.0 licence, in an ONNX version made by Carve. Each painted spot is filled on its own, so the rest of the photo keeps its full sharpness. The model is 208 MB and downloads once.

What works best?

Small, solid marks in a corner or over a plain area: a logo, a date, a web address. See-through marks spread over faces or fine detail are much harder and can leave a soft patch.

Is the picture made smaller?

No, it is saved at its own size, up to 4096 pixels on the long side. Only the painted area changes.
