Reverse video.

Make a video play backwards, for a rewind effect or a fun loop. The sound can be reversed too, or left out. It runs in your browser, so nothing is uploaded.

This runs in your browser. Your files are never uploaded.

How it works

Three steps, nothing to install.

01 / Drop

Choose a video

Drag in the file. It is read from your own disk.

02 / Pick

Choose the sound

Reverse the sound as well, or leave it out, which suits most rewind effects.

03 / Save

Reverse and download

The frames are written backwards as an MP4. Play it, then download it.

Questions

Good to know.

Is my video uploaded?

No. It is reversed in this tab with your browser, so the file never leaves your computer.

Why does it take a while?

Videos are stored to be read forwards. To play one backwards, the page reads it in short pieces from the end, which takes longer than playing it.

Can I reverse the sound?

Yes, for videos up to 10 minutes. Longer sound would use too much memory in a browser tab, so it is left out.

Does it lower the quality?

Every frame is re-encoded as H.264, so there is a small loss, as with any re-encode.

Can I make a boomerang loop?

Yes. Reverse a short clip here, then join the original and the reversed one with the video merger.

Which browsers work?

Current Chrome, Edge and Safari, which can encode H.264 video.
