Short answer: Loom has a free Starter plan, Business at $18 per user per month, Business + AI at $24 per user per month, and Enterprise with no listed price. Starter allows 25 videos and 5 minute screen recordings at up to 720p. Business removes the video and length limits and goes up to 4K. All numbers below come from Loom's own pricing page, checked on 23 October 2026.
Loom's page changes. If the numbers here are old when you read this, trust the live page. This post is by the maker of MotionShine, a Loom alternative, so read it with that in mind. Loom's facts are only from Loom's pages, and the alternative is in its own short section at the end.

What the page says about yearly billing
Loom's page offers monthly or annual billing and says you save 17% when you pay annually. It does not list the annual prices as numbers. Some arithmetic you can check yourself:
- Business: $18 a month for 12 months is $216. Take off 17% and you get about $179.
- Business + AI: $24 for 12 months is $288. Take off 17% and you get about $239.
Our 14 October 2026 check of the same page recorded $180 and $240 a year, which matches that rounding. Treat those two as a guide, not a quote, because today's page does not show them.
What Starter really limits
Loom's pricing page lists these Starter items: 25 videos, 5 minute screen recordings, and unlimited meeting length. Loom's Starter plan FAQ on support.atlassian.com adds detail:
- The cap is 25 videos and screenshots in total. Archived videos count towards it.
- Your existing videos are not deleted when you reach the cap. You just cannot record more until you delete some or upgrade to a paid Business account.
- Recordings are capped at 5 minutes.
One thing does not line up. The pricing page says all plans include unlimited screenshots, while the Starter FAQ says the 25 item limit includes screenshots. Loom's pages disagree, so check inside your account before you rely on either.
Free trial, education and other small print
- The pricing page says you can try Business + AI free for 14 days. A 14 day Enterprise trial needs a call to sales.
- Loom's page says it is part of Atlassian's educator discount program and that verification is required. It gives no education price.
- Credit cards are accepted. ACH payment means contacting sales.
- The page says feature access differs between buying on loom.com and on atlassian.com for a limited time, and bills differently: by distinct paid users on loom.com, by user tiers on atlassian.com.
- Nonprofit pricing, and what happens if you downgrade past the limits, are not on the pricing page ("not found").
Is Loom worth paying for?
This depends on which part of Loom you use.
Pay for Business if you record long videos for a team, you want no Loom branding, and you send share links all day. Business is for the link and the shared library, not just the recording.
Pay for Business + AI if your team actually uses titles, summaries and chapters, and the filler word removal. Loom's own page lists these. The extra $6 per user a month is only worth it if people use them.
Stay on Starter if you record a few short messages. Five minutes and 25 items is enough for quick explainers, if you delete old ones.
The cost across a team
Using only the monthly prices on Loom's page, the monthly bill is price times people. Here is the sum for a few team sizes at the monthly rates, before any annual discount:
| People | Business at $18 | Business + AI at $24 |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | $18 | $24 |
| 5 | $90 | $120 |
| 10 | $180 | $240 |
| 25 | $450 | $600 |
Seat counts are not capped on these plans according to the page, but check how Loom counts a paid user (Creator) versus a free one (Creator Lite) before you buy for a whole company.
If the limits are the problem, not the share link
Many people look up Loom pricing because the free plan ran out. If what you need is long, good looking recordings, not a link, there are other ways to go. Our longer list is 10 best Loom alternatives for Mac. Another route is the free recorder already on your Mac, covered in how to record a video on Mac and how to screen record on Mac.
MotionShine, for the record
MotionShine is a free Mac screen recorder with auto zoom, a smooth cursor, click effects and motion blur you can add, and a full editor with text, pictures, music lanes, voice over and on device captions. The free version has no time limit and no watermark, and exports up to 720p at 30 fps, the same top resolution as Loom Starter. Pro unlocks 1080p, 1440p, 4K and 60 fps for a one time price, so there is no subscription.
It is not a Loom replacement if you need a share link, viewer comments or a team library. MotionShine does not make share links. You export a file and send it yourself. It runs on Mac only.
