3 months from today, month ends handled.

3 months from today is the same day of the month, three calendar months on. The calculator above reads your device's clock and shows the date and weekday as soon as the page opens, with the number of days in between, whether it is a business day, and the next business day. As a worked example, 3 months after Monday, October 19, 2026 is Tuesday, January 19, 2027, which is 92 days later.

How to use the calculator

1. Read the big card. It shows the date and weekday for the count in Amount and Unit, counted from the date in Count from, which opens on today.
2. To start from another day, pick it in Count from. Today puts today back.
3. To look into the past, choose Count back. The card then reads, for example, "ago" when you count from today.
4. To try another number, type it in Amount and pick days, weeks, months or years in Unit. In the table of nearby counts, a click on a count fills in the Amount for you.
5. Tick Count US federal holidays as days off if you want the Business day cards to skip them as well as weekends.
6. Use Copy date, Copy ISO date, Copy sentence or Copy link. The link opens with your choices but starts from today unless you picked another date.

What happens on a month end

Months have different lengths, so the day you start on may not exist three months later. The rule here is the usual one: keep the same day of the month, and if that month is too short, use its last day. Monday, November 30, 2026 plus 3 months is Sunday, February 28, 2027, because February 2027 has only 28 days. The note under the cards says so whenever it happens, and the table of month ends in the tool shows more cases, worked out by the page itself:

• 30 November 2026 plus 3 months is 28 February 2027 (February has 28 days).
• 30 November 2027 plus 3 months is 29 February 2028 (2028 is a leap year).
• 31 August 2026 plus 3 months is 30 November 2026 (November has 30 days).
• 31 October 2026 plus 3 months is 31 January 2027 (January has 31 days, so nothing changes).

Going back does not always undo it

Because a short month cuts the day back, adding 3 months and then taking 3 months away can land on a different day. Start from Monday, November 30, 2026: add 3 months and you get Sunday, February 28, 2027; take 3 months from that and you get Saturday, November 28, 2026, not the 30th. If you need to return to the exact start, keep the start date rather than counting back.

How many days is 3 months?

Three calendar months are between 89 and 92 days. The table starts from the first day of each month in 2026. The shortest spans are those that cover February; the longest are those that hold several 31-day months.

Three months is often called 13 weeks, but 13 weeks is exactly 91 days, so the dates can differ by up to two days. If the number must be exact in days, use 90 days from today or set Unit to weeks.

Weekends and business days

The cards also say whether the date is a business day, meaning Monday to Friday, and give the next business day on or after it. If the date falls on a Saturday or Sunday, the next business day is the Monday after. With the holiday box ticked, the US federal holidays also count as days off. The list follows the US Office of Personnel Management list of federal holidays, checked 19 Oct 2026. For most federal employees a holiday on a Saturday is kept on the Friday before and one on a Sunday on the Monday after, and the calculator does the same. Inauguration Day, which applies to the Washington area every fourth year, is left out. Other countries' holidays are not included; the days between dates page lets you list your own.

As an example, 3 months from Tuesday, August 11, 2026 is Wednesday, November 11, 2026, which is Veterans Day. With the holiday box ticked, the Business day card says No and the next business day is Thursday, November 12, 2026.

Counting back: 3 months ago

Choose Count back for 3 months ago. From Monday, October 19, 2026 that is Sunday, July 19, 2026. The same rule for short months applies when you count back.
