01 / Bleed
Colour past the edge
Backgrounds run 3 mm (1/8 in for US cards) past the trim line, so a slightly off cut never leaves a white sliver.
Free tool
Type your details, add your logo and pick a layout, colours and fonts. The back can carry your logo or a QR code that opens your website or saves your contact to a phone. When it looks right, download a PDF the way printers ask for it: 600 dpi, with bleed round every edge and crop marks, at 3.5 x 2 inches or 85 x 55 mm.

Print-ready means
01 / Bleed
Backgrounds run 3 mm (1/8 in for US cards) past the trim line, so a slightly off cut never leaves a white sliver.
02 / Crop marks
Thin lines outside the bleed show the printer exactly where the card's edges are.
03 / Safe area
Keep text inside the blue dashed line, 3 mm in from the edge, so nothing important is trimmed.
Questions
In the US and Canada, 3.5 x 2 inches. In much of Europe, 85 x 55 mm. Pick either, across or upright.
Extra background beyond the cut line. Cutting machines are not exact to the millimetre, so the colour runs past the edge and the trim falls inside it.
