Free tool

Document scanner, photos to a clean PDF.

Take a photo of a page with your phone, or drop in photos you have. The paper's edges are found and the page is straightened, shadows and grey paper are cleaned up, and every page goes into one PDF. Drag the corners if the edges need a nudge. No app, no sign-up, nothing uploaded.

Your pages are scanned in your browser. Nothing is uploaded.

Questions

Good to know.

Are my documents uploaded?

No. Finding the edges, straightening and cleaning happen in this browser tab, which matters for IDs, contracts and medical papers.

How do I get the best scan?

Put the page on a darker surface so its edges stand out, hold the phone flat above it, and use daylight or bright, even light. Avoid your own shadow across the page.

Can I search the text in the PDF?

Not yet: the pages are pictures. To get the text out, use image to text on a page, or PDF to Word, which reads scanned pages too.

The edges were not found. What now?

Drag the four corners to the paper by hand, or choose "Use the whole photo" if the photo already shows just the page.

How big is the PDF?

Pages are saved as JPG pictures at up to 2400 pixels on the long side, usually a few hundred KB per page. Use compress PDF if a form needs a smaller file.
