Questions

Good to know.

Is my PDF uploaded?

No. Text is read and OCR runs in this browser tab.

Why does some text come out in the wrong order?

A PDF stores text as placed pieces, not paragraphs. Columns and tables can come out line by line across the page. For a document you want to keep editing, PDF to Word rebuilds paragraphs and columns.

How good is the OCR?

Clear, straight scans at normal print sizes read well. Handwriting, very small print and photos taken at an angle read poorly; straighten photos first with the document scanner.

Which languages does OCR read?

English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch, Turkish, Russian, Arabic, Hindi, Bengali, Indonesian, simplified Chinese, Japanese and Korean.
