Free tool
Open the PDF and fill it in. When the form has its own boxes, each one becomes a field you can type into, tick or choose from, and the answers are saved into the form itself. When it is a flat scan or printout, click anywhere to type, and add ticks, crosses, today's date and your signature. The file never leaves your computer.

Questions
A PDF with form fields built in: text boxes, tick boxes, round buttons and lists. This page shows each one as a box on the page and writes your answers into those fields, so the form still works in Adobe Acrobat, Preview and other PDF apps.
Yes. Click on the page where the answer goes and type. Use Tick, Cross and Date for the rest, and White-out to cover something before writing over it. The text is added as real text, not a picture, wherever the letters exist in the PDF's standard fonts.
Flattening turns the answers into part of the page, so nobody can change them in a PDF app and the form boxes disappear. Leave it off if the form still has to be edited or read by software.
Form fields are drawn with the font the form asks for, which is often Helvetica. Letters it does not have, such as many accents outside Western European languages, are kept in the field and left for the PDF app to draw, so how they look depends on the app.
No. Forms often hold private details, so the PDF is opened, filled and saved inside this browser tab and never sent anywhere.
Yes. Choose Signature to draw, type or photograph your signature and place it. For more, such as pictures and highlights, use the PDF editor.
