Flatten a PDF, fix it as it is.

Flatten a filled form so the answers become part of the page and the fields can no longer be edited, which many offices and print shops ask for. Or flatten everything, comments, highlights and stamps included, by turning each page into a picture. The file never leaves your computer.

The PDF is changed in your browser. It is never uploaded.

Questions

Good to know.

What does flattening a PDF mean?

It turns things that sit on top of the page, such as form fields, comments and stamps, into part of the page itself, so they look the same everywhere and can no longer be edited or removed.

Fields only or everything?

Fields only keeps the text selectable and the file small, and is enough for a filled form. Flatten everything also fixes comments, highlights and signatures in place, but each page becomes a picture, so the text can no longer be selected or searched.

Why do print shops ask for flattened PDFs?

Form fields and comments can print differently or not at all depending on the printer. A flattened PDF prints exactly as it looks.

Is my PDF uploaded?

No. Everything happens in this browser tab.
