Questions

Good to know.

Are my pictures uploaded?

No. They are converted in this tab with your browser, so they never leave your computer.

What is a JFIF file?

JFIF stands for JPEG File Interchange Format. A .jfif file is a normal JPEG picture with a different ending. Windows sometimes saves pictures from the web with it, and some upload forms and apps then refuse the file.

Could I just rename the file?

Often yes: a .jfif is already a JPEG, so changing the ending to .jpg works in most apps. This page saves a fresh JPG instead, which also works when renaming is awkward, for many files at once, or on a phone.

Does it lower the quality?

The picture is saved again as a JPEG. At the default quality of 90 percent the change is very hard to see, and you can raise it.

Can I convert many at once?

Yes. Drop several pictures together. Download them one by one, or all at once in a ZIP file.

Which browsers work?

Current Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari.
