Metadata remover, see it, then clear it.

Photos and AI images carry hidden details: the camera and phone, the date, the exact place they were taken, the app that edited them, and for AI images the prompt, the settings and a "made with AI" record. Drop your pictures and see what each one holds, then download clean copies. JPG, PNG, WebP and GIF keep every pixel; only the hidden data is cut out.

Pictures are read and cleaned in your browser. They are never uploaded.

What it removes

Everything hidden, nothing you can see.

01 / EXIF

Camera, dates and place

Phone or camera model, serial numbers, lens, when the photo was taken and the GPS position it was taken at.

02 / XMP and IPTC

Edits, names and rights

The editing app and its history, the creator's name, captions, keywords and copyright notes.

03 / AI

Prompts and AI records

Prompts and settings saved by Stable Diffusion, ComfyUI and Automatic1111, AI tool names, and C2PA Content Credentials.

Also removed: comments, text blocks in PNG files, and extra data after the picture, such as the short video in a motion photo.

Questions

Good to know.

What is photo metadata?

Information saved inside the image file next to the picture. Phones add the model, the time and often the GPS position; editing apps add their name and history; AI image tools can add the prompt, the model and a signed "made with AI" record. You cannot see it in the picture, but anyone with the file can read it.

Does it change the picture?

Not for JPG, PNG, WebP and GIF: the hidden parts are cut out of the file and the picture data is left exactly as it was. HEIC, AVIF, TIFF and other kinds are saved as a new JPG, or PNG when they have see-through parts, which carries no hidden data but is a fresh encode.

Will my turned photo come out sideways?

No. Phones often store a photo sideways with a note to turn it. That one note is kept, and nothing else, so the photo still shows the right way up.

Does it remove invisible AI watermarks?

No. Some AI tools, such as Google's SynthID, hide a watermark in the pixels themselves. That is part of the picture, not metadata, so no metadata remover can take it out. Platforms may also have their own rules on labelling AI images, which removing metadata does not change.

Do social networks remove metadata anyway?

Many strip some of it when you post, but not all apps and not every kind of data, and email, chat attachments, cloud links and website uploads often keep everything. Cleaning a photo before you share it means you do not have to rely on that.

Are my pictures uploaded?

No. Everything happens in this browser tab, so the location and details you are removing never leave your computer.
