Free tool

Image compressor.

Make photos and screenshots smaller to send, upload or put on a website. Pick the quality and a largest size, drop many pictures at once, and see how much you saved. It runs in your browser, so nothing is uploaded.

This runs in your browser. Your pictures are never uploaded.

How it works

Three steps, nothing to install.

01 / Pick

Set the quality

Lower quality and a smaller largest side give smaller files. 75 percent is a good start.

02 / Drop

Add the pictures

Drop one or many. Each one is compressed in the page.

03 / Save

Download them

See the saving for each picture, then download them one by one or in a ZIP.

Questions

Good to know.

Are my pictures uploaded?

No. They are changed in this tab with your browser, so they never leave your computer.

What quality should I pick?

75 percent looks almost the same as the original for most photos and saves a lot. Screenshots with text keep sharper edges at 85 percent or more.

Why is my PNG saved as WebP?

PNG keeps every pixel, so it cannot be squeezed by a quality setting. WebP keeps see-through parts and is usually much smaller. Pick JPG if you need JPG.

What if a picture does not get smaller?

If the result would be larger, the original is kept and the list says so.

Does it keep the photo's location?

No. The new picture does not keep the hidden details stored in a photo, such as the camera and the place.

Can I do many at once?

Yes. Drop several pictures together, then download them one by one or all at once in a ZIP file.

Which browsers work?

Current Chrome, Edge, Safari and Firefox. Safari cannot save WebP files, so it saves those as PNG.
