An AI model finds you
MODNet, a model made for cutting people out of video, runs on each frame in your browser, on the graphics card when it can.
Free tool
Hide a messy room: blur the background behind you or swap it for a colour, a gradient or your own picture, live on your webcam, and record yourself as a video. An AI model finds you in every frame, right in your browser, the first time after a one-time download. Good for intros, updates and tutorials where only you should be in the shot.
Plain, even light and a wall that is not the colour of your hair or clothes give the cleanest edges. A web page cannot act as a camera for Zoom or Meet; those apps have their own background setting.
The camera picture and the AI stay in this tab. Nothing is uploaded; the video is saved only if you download it.
How it works
01 / Find
MODNet, a model made for cutting people out of video, runs on each frame in your browser, on the graphics card when it can.
02 / Smooth
Each new outline is eased into the last one and drawn at the camera's own frame rate, so the picture stays smooth.
03 / Record
Record with sound and download an MP4 (or WebM where MP4 is not available) with the new background baked in.
Questions
Not directly: a web page cannot become a camera for other apps. Those apps have a background setting of their own; use this page to record videos with a clean background.
Fast movement, hair against a busy background and dim light are hardest. Even, bright light and a plain wall help most.
No. The camera, the AI and the recording all run in your browser.
Yes, on the processor, at a smaller size so it keeps up. With WebGPU (current Chrome and Edge) it runs at a larger size.
