Online video recorder, your webcam in one click.

Record yourself with your webcam and microphone, right in the browser. Choose the camera, microphone and quality up to 1080p, start with a countdown, pause when you need to, then play it back and download the video. No sign-up, no watermark, and the video never leaves your computer.

Your browser asks to use the camera and microphone.

Questions

Good to know.

Is my video uploaded?

No. The browser records the camera into this tab, and the file goes straight to your Downloads folder when you save it. Nothing is sent to a server.

MP4 or WebM?

Chrome, Edge and Safari save MP4. Firefox saves WebM; the MOV to MP4 converter also takes WebM files if you need an MP4.

Why is my video not mirrored?

The preview is mirrored like a bathroom mirror, which feels natural while you record. The video itself is saved the way others see you, so text behind you reads the right way round.

Is there a time limit?

No limit is set here. The video is kept in the browser's memory until you download it, so very long recordings can use a lot of memory.

The camera does not start. What now?

Allow the camera in the address bar, and on a Mac in System Settings, Privacy & Security, Camera. Close any video call that may be using it. The webcam and mic test checks both.

Can I record my screen and camera together?

Use the online screen recorder for the screen. For the screen with your camera in a bubble, auto zoom and captions, use the MotionShine Mac app.
