Free tool

Online screen recorder.

Record your screen, a window or a browser tab, with your microphone. It runs in your browser, so there is nothing to install, no sign-up and no watermark, and the recording is never uploaded.

The recording is made and kept in this tab. Nothing is uploaded.

How it works

Three steps, nothing to install.

01 / Choose

Pick the sound

Choose whether to add your microphone and the sound of the screen or tab.

02 / Share

Pick what to record

Your browser asks which screen, window or tab to share. Pick one and the recording starts.

03 / Save

Stop and download

Stop when you are done, play it back in the page, then download the file.

Questions

Good to know.

Is my recording uploaded?

No. The browser records it into this tab, and the file goes from here to your Downloads folder. Nothing is sent to a server.

What file do I get?

Chrome and Edge save an MP4 when they can, and a WebM otherwise. Safari saves an MP4. If you need an MP4 from a WebM, use the MOV to MP4 converter, which also takes WebM files.

Can it record my Mac's sound?

Chrome and Edge can add the sound of a browser tab when you tick Share audio. Sound from other Mac apps depends on the browser and the macOS version, so check the playback before you rely on it.

Why does my Mac ask for permission?

macOS asks before any app can record the screen. Allow your browser in System Settings, Privacy & Security, then Screen & System Audio Recording, and reopen the browser if it asks.

Is there a time limit?

No limit is set here. The recording is kept in the browser's memory until you download it, so very long recordings can use a lot of memory.

Does it zoom or edit?

No. This records exactly what is on screen. For auto zoom on clicks, a smooth cursor and an editor, use the MotionShine Mac app.
