Can it convert Kindle or bought e-books?
Only books without DRM. Most bought e-books are locked to the store's app, and this page will say so instead of converting them. Free and DRM-free books, such as those from Project Gutenberg, Standard Ebooks or many indie authors, work.
Does it keep the book's design?
It keeps the structure: headings, paragraphs, lists, quotes, pictures, bold and italic. The book's own fonts, colours and special layouts are replaced by one clean design, so every book reads well as a PDF.
What about Chinese, Japanese or Arabic books?
The PDF font covers Latin, Greek and Cyrillic letters. Other scripts show as "?", and the page warns you when that happens.
Can I go the other way?

Is my book uploaded?
No. It is unzipped, read and laid out in this browser tab.
