Free tool

Gamepad tester, buttons, sticks, drift.

Plug in or pair your controller and press any button. Every button lights up as you press it, with how far for triggers, and both sticks are drawn in their circles with a trail, so you can see drift: a stick that moves when you are not touching it. Test vibration where your browser supports it. Works with Xbox, PlayStation, Switch Pro and most other controllers.

Press any button on your controller

Browsers only show a controller after a button is pressed while this page is open. Connect it by USB or Bluetooth first.

The controller is read in your browser. Nothing is sent anywhere.

What to check

Find the fault in a minute.

01 / Buttons

Every press lit

Press each button and watch its tile. A button that does not light, or flickers, needs cleaning or repair.

02 / Drift

Let go and watch

Release both sticks. The dot should sit in the centre; if it wanders or rests far from 0, the stick is drifting.

03 / Triggers

Full travel

Squeeze each trigger slowly; the value should rise smoothly from 0 to 100% with no jumps.

Questions

Good to know.

Why does my controller not show up?

Press a button while this page is open: browsers hide controllers until then, for privacy. Check it is connected by USB or Bluetooth.

How do I check for stick drift?

Let go of both sticks and watch their dots and numbers. Readings much above 0.1 at rest point to drift.

Does it work with PlayStation and Xbox controllers?

Yes, and with most others the system recognises. Standard controllers show named buttons; others show numbers.

Why does vibration not work?

Vibration depends on the browser and the controller. Chrome and Edge support it for many controllers; others may not.

Is anything installed?

No. It uses your browser's built-in Gamepad API.
