Glitch effect, broken on purpose.

Make a picture look like a bad signal or a corrupted file: pull the red and blue apart, shift slices sideways, sort bright pixels into streaks, and add scan lines and noise. Each slider controls one effect. Shuffle for a new mix, then save a PNG, or a short looping GIF where the glitch flickers, for a cover, a thumbnail or an intro.

The glitch is drawn in your browser. Your picture is never uploaded.

The effects

What each slider breaks.

01 / RGB split

Colour fringes

Red and blue slide away from green, like a badly lined-up screen or old 3D.

02 / Slices

Torn signal

Bands of the picture jump sideways, like a video stream that lost data.

03 / Pixel sorting

Melting streaks

Bright runs of pixels are sorted by brightness, which smears highlights into streaks.

Questions

Good to know.

Can I glitch a video?

Not on this page; it works on pictures and makes animated GIFs. The GIF option gives a looping, flickering glitch from a single picture.

Will I get the same glitch again?

Yes. The glitch only changes when you press Shuffle, so moving a slider adjusts the same result and the download matches the preview.

What size is the PNG?

The picture's own size, up to 3,000 pixels on the long side.

Which pictures look best?

Portraits, neon and night scenes, and bold graphics with strong contrast. Pixel sorting needs bright areas, such as skies or lights.

Is my picture uploaded?

No. Everything happens in this tab.
