Questions

Good to know.

Are my photos uploaded?

No. They are converted in this tab with your browser, so they never leave your computer.

What is an HEIC file?

HEIC is the High Efficiency format iPhones use for photos by default. Windows, many websites and older apps cannot open it.

PNG or JPG: which should I pick?

PNG keeps every pixel, so nothing more is lost, and it can hold see-through areas. The files are much larger than a JPG. For sharing or uploading a photo, the HEIC to JPG converter gives smaller files.

Can I convert many at once?

Yes. Drop several pictures together. Download them one by one, or all at once in a ZIP file.

Does it keep the photo's location?

No. The new picture does not keep the hidden details stored in the photo, such as the camera and the place it was taken.

What about Live Photos?

The still picture is converted. The short moving part of a Live Photo is a separate video file and is not included.

Which browsers work?

Current Chrome, Edge and Firefox. Safari works too. Safari reads HEIC itself; other browsers load a HEIC reader first, about 3 MB, once.
