Free tool

Mind map maker, as fast as you think.

Put the main idea in the middle and branch out as fast as you can type. Tab adds a branch, Enter adds the next idea at the same level, arrows move around, and Space folds a branch away. The map lays itself out, left and right, so nothing overlaps, with a colour for each main branch. Paste an indented list to turn notes into a map, or copy the map back out as an outline.

Tab: branch. Enter: next idea. F2 or double-click: rename. Space: fold. Arrows: move around.

Your map is kept in your browser and never uploaded.

Why it is quick

Hands stay on the keyboard.

01 / Keys

Tab and Enter

Tab adds a branch under the selected idea, Enter adds the next idea beside it, and you are typing straight away.

02 / Layout

Never tangled

Branches share the space left and right of the main idea and space themselves out by size, so nothing overlaps.

03 / Outlines

Notes in, notes out

Paste meeting notes or a bullet list to get a map; copy the map out as an indented outline for a document.

Questions

Good to know.

How do I add a branch?

Select an idea and press Tab, or press + Branch. Press Enter to add another idea at the same level.

Can I turn my notes into a mind map?

Yes. Paste an indented or bulleted list into the outline box and press Make a map from this list. The first line becomes the main idea.

Can I hide part of the map?

Select an idea and press Space to fold its branches away; a number shows how many are hidden. Press Space again to show them.

Is my map saved?

Yes, in this browser, as you work. Copy it as an outline or save an SVG or PDF to keep a copy elsewhere.

Is it free?

Yes, with no sign-up and no limit on ideas.
