What is a MP3 file?
MP3 is compressed sound that plays on almost every phone, car stereo, player and website.
Why convert to WAV?
WAV is uncompressed sound. It keeps every detail, so files are large: about 10 MB a minute for CD-quality stereo. Editors such as GarageBand and Logic work with it.
Does it lower the quality?
The sound stays exactly as it is in the MP3. WAV cannot bring back detail the MP3 left out, and the file gets much larger.
Is there a size limit?
The file is handled in your browser's memory, so very large files can fail. Close other tabs and try again.
