What is a MP4 file?

MP4 is the most widely accepted video format: phones, editors, YouTube and most websites take it.

Why convert to WAV?

WAV is uncompressed sound. It keeps every detail, so files are large: about 10 MB a minute for CD-quality stereo. Editors such as GarageBand and Logic work with it.

Does it lower the quality?

The sound is saved uncompressed, so nothing more is lost. The file is much larger than the video's own sound track.

Is there a size limit?

The file is handled in your browser's memory, so very large files can fail. Close other tabs and try again.
