Free tool

Crop video.

Cut a video down to the part that matters: drag a box over the picture, or pick a shape such as 16:9, 9:16 or square. Great for a screen recording that shows too much. It runs in your browser, so nothing is uploaded.

This runs in your browser. Your files are never uploaded.

How it works

Questions

Good to know.

Is my video uploaded?

No. It is cropped in this tab with your browser, so the file never leaves your computer.

Does cropping make it blurry?

No. The kept area stays at its own pixel size. If you then make it bigger, for example with the video resizer, it will look softer.

Crop or resize?

Cropping cuts off the edges and keeps the rest as it is. Resizing keeps the whole picture and changes its size.

Does it keep the sound?

Yes. The sound is kept as it was.

Does it lower the quality?

Every frame is re-encoded as H.264, so there is a small loss, as with any re-encode.

Which browsers work?

Current Chrome, Edge and Safari, which can encode H.264 video.
