Free tool

Remove audio from video.

Take the sound out of a video and keep the picture exactly as it was. Useful before you add music or a voice-over, or when a recording picked up noise. It runs in your browser, so nothing is uploaded.

This runs in your browser. Your files are never uploaded.

How it works

03 / Save

Download it

Play the silent video in the page, then download it.

Questions

Good to know.

Is my video uploaded?

No. The sound is removed in this tab with your browser, so the file never leaves your computer.

Does it lower the quality?

Usually not. The picture is copied as it is when the format allows it, so it is not re-encoded.

Which format do I get?

A .mov stays a .mov. Other files are saved as MP4.

Can I keep the sound as a separate file?

Yes. Use MP4 to MP3 first to save the sound, then remove it here.

Is there a size limit?

The file is handled in your browser's memory, so very large files can fail. Close other tabs and try again.

Which browsers work?

Current Chrome, Edge, Safari and Firefox.
