Guide
A 60 minute timer, or 1 hour timer, counts down 3,600 seconds and rings at zero. The numbers show hours, minutes and seconds, starting at 1:00:00. This timer has soft cues at halfway and with one minute left, a label, rounds, full screen mode, and an optional notification. It keeps its time as a clock time, so it stays right in a background tab and after a reload.
A long timer has more that can go wrong than a short one, so check these before you start.
The timer saves the clock time it should end, in this browser. Reload or reopen the page and it carries on from the right time. If the hour finished while the page was closed, it shows the time it ended. Click once on the page after a reload so the browser lets the alarm play again.
For an exam or a class, put the timer in full screen and place it where everyone can read it. The exact time allowed comes from the paper or the organiser, not from this page, so check it and use Any other time if it is not an hour. The halfway chime plays when 30:00 is left and the one minute chime at 1:00, if you ticked them; leave them off if sound would disturb the room.

For a break inside the hour, the Pomodoro timer splits work and rest for you. To count up instead, use the stopwatch.
A whole hour is easier to use when it has parts. Four blocks of 15 minutes give 4 × 15 = 60. Two halves of 30 give 30 + 30 = 60. A block of 50 with a break of 10 gives 50 + 10 = 60. Choose Rounds if you want the same length each time; for a 50 and 10 split, run the 50 with Any other time and press Start again for the 10. The halfway chime plays when 30:00 is left, which is the point to check progress.
