Free tool

Add text to a GIF.

Put a caption on an animated GIF: bold text with an outline at the top, the middle or the bottom of every frame. It runs in your browser, so nothing is uploaded and there is no watermark.

The GIF is read and written in your browser. Nothing is uploaded.

Questions

Good to know.

Is my GIF uploaded?

No. It is read and written in this tab with your browser, so it never leaves your computer.

Which font is used?

A bold, condensed font in capitals with an outline, the classic caption style. It uses Impact when your computer has it.

Can I add two lines?

Yes. Press Return in the text box to start a second line.

Is there a watermark?

No. Only your text is added.

Which browsers work?

Current Chrome, Edge, Safari and Firefox.
