Free tool

Compress a video to send by email.

Email has a size limit, and videos are big. Drop your clip or screen recording, pick where you are sending it, and get an MP4 that fits: under 25 MB for Gmail, under 20 MB for Outlook.com, or under 10 MB for a work account. When the target is small for a long video, the picture is made smaller too, so it still looks clean. It all runs in this tab, so your video is never uploaded.

This runs in your browser. Your video is never uploaded.

The limits

How big can an email be?

Gmail

25 MB

For personal accounts. Bigger files are turned into a Google Drive link. Work and school accounts are set by their admin.

Outlook.com

20 MB

Microsoft's limit for internet accounts in Outlook, counting the whole message, not just the file.

Work email

10 MB

Microsoft's default for Exchange business accounts; your company may set another limit.

Read on support.google.com/mail/answer/6584 and Microsoft's "Reduce the size of attachments" page on 16 Oct 2026. The presets aim a little under each limit to leave room for the message.

Questions

Good to know.

My video is still too big. What now?

A long video cannot fit a small limit and still look good. Trim it with the video trimmer, choose a smaller picture size, or send a link instead: upload it to Google Drive, OneDrive or iCloud and share the link.

Is my video uploaded?

No. It is compressed in this tab and nothing leaves your computer.

Will the person be able to play it?

Yes. The result is an MP4 with H.264 video, which plays on Windows, Mac, iPhone, Android and in every browser.

Why aim under the limit, not exactly at it?

Email adds the message and encoding to the size of the file, so a file right at the limit can still be refused. The presets leave a little room.
