WMA to MP3, old Windows music, playable again.

Music ripped with Windows Media Player and recordings from old voice recorders are often WMA files, which Macs, iPhones and many apps will not play. Drop a WMA here and get an MP3 that plays everywhere. A small FFmpeg made for this site reads it in your browser, so nothing is uploaded.

This runs in your browser. Your files are never uploaded.

Questions

Good to know.

Why will my Mac not play WMA?

WMA is a Windows Media format. Apple Music, QuickTime and iPhones do not read it, so it needs converting to MP3, AAC or another common format.

Is my music uploaded?

No. The file is read and converted in your browser.

Does it work with protected WMA songs?

No. Songs locked with Windows Media DRM, often from old music stores, cannot be read.

Which quality should I pick?

192 kbps suits most music and speech. For WMA Lossless files, 320 kbps keeps the most detail MP3 can hold.

Can I convert WMV videos too?

Yes, with WMV to MP4. Drop a WMV here and you get only its sound as an MP3.
